NEA RESIDENTS BAND TOGETHER FOR COMMUNITY IMPROVEMENT
Citizens in NEA now have a resource of support and a direct avenue to express their opinions about what needs to be addressed in their neighborhoods and communities. Residents 4 Arkansas is a locally formed organization, currently working towards nonprofit status. While the organization itself is geared for all residents in Arkansas, the first city slated to begin work in is; West Memphis.
"Residents 4 Arkansas'"mission is to help improve the rural and metropolitan communities of Arkansas by working with individuals in neighborhoods to solve their problems. Our primary goal is to give residents a loud voice by assessing the needs of individuals young and old alike, thus giving them the tools to work for REAL improvement! Our motto is; Empowering Arkansas Communities through Positive Action.
Residents 4 Arkansas' goal is to reach EVERY resident of the city of West Memphis prior to August of 2013. Each individual inside of the city will have an opportunity to voice their opinions and participate in a survey when our volunteers begin canvassing West Memphis streets starting Feb 2011. Recent talks with residents have proven well, and a few ideas have been suggested for the organization to begin work on. Our first town hall meeting will be held in mid December of 2010, further introducing ourselves to the residents of West Memphis and NEA.
