Crittenden County Survey Work to Commence
There's a great deal to be said about the many positive things within West Memphis, but here recently we seem to be getting hit with even more tragic news. Granted, all across the state of Arkansas many families have experienced a great deal of heartache, with the loss of jobs, the foreclosure of homes, and the violence that seems to be escalating inside of our communities. This has caused many we fear to turn a blind eye towards the daily strife which we are surrounded by, and it certainly is an easy thing to do when all we're flooded with is more bad news via most local media outlets. The fact of the matter is that there are so many daily heroes, members of our community that volunteer their time in selfless service to our county that never make the front page. Take for example those of you who work long hours at your current job and then find a way to make time for the homeless members of West Memphis through your numerous volunteer efforts, or those among you who perhaps participate in a youth mentor style program. On behalf of "Residents 4 Arkansas" we would like to thank you for what you do, and know that your hard work is NEVER in vain. In our quest to better our communities and neighborhoods it is imperative that more people become involved. It is CRUCIAL that YOU realize that YOUR voice does matter and that it CAN and WILL have an impact on our state.
With that said, “Residents 4 Arkansas” is pleased to announce that our West Memphis Community Survey work WILL commence on January 25th 2011. For the next three years our teams of volunteers will begin canvassing neighborhoods in an attempt to gauge the concerns of residents, in particular what YOU would like to see done to improve existing communities. Your survey responses will enable us as a growing nonprofit to commence work on projects that you decide. It is our goal to have ALL of Crittenden County complete within four years. After much deliberation, it has been decided that the area Southeast of Broadway Street in West Memphis will be surveyed first. The Western boundary for this will be South Woods Street, and the Eastern boundary for this first selected area will be South 25th Street. Survey work will be conducted every Tuesday afternoon 2pm-5pm, every Thursday afternoon 2pm-5pm, and every other Saturday 10am-2pm. It is our hope with alternating days to be able to collect many gathered responses, the most important question being; what would you like to see done to better your community? It is our hope to be able to meet you and your families within the upcoming months and years to come, and know that we want to help in any way possible. For questions pertaining to this survey work, or questions concerning our organization in general please feel free to reach us at; 870 514 8515 or please feel free to check out our website at www.residents4arkansas.com We of course would also like to hear from you at firstname.lastname@example.org
