This is our fourth interview concerning the race for the 54th House District, and in today's article we're going to feature the first GOP Candidate in this unique series; Mr. John Geelan. I must say that we were impressed with Mr. Geelan's willingness to sit down with us and discuss many important issues which local area residents are faced with. He did so with a great base of knowledge and a firm understanding of small business tax law, and economic strategy. As has been mentioned numerous times, the purpose of these articles is to bring the election for the 54th closer to YOU...the VOTER. In the end, it will be you who decides which individual is going to represent our county and region. Regardless of whom YOU decide to vote for, the most crucial thing is that you just get out and VOTE! Let us now delve further into the real meat of this article, by getting a little more detailed background info on who Mr. John Geelan is, and just what he's hoping to do for the 54th House District. We also should say that we look forward to seeing Mr. Geelan at our upcoming debate in Turrell, Arkansas on April 2nd 2011.
Political Affiliation: (R) Republican “Fiscally Conservative”
Background:
Mr. John Geelan is a ten year small business owner in West Memphis, and believes that his extensive business background and many years of involvement within the local communities make him the ideal candidate to represent the district to our state level officials. He classifies himself as a “fiscally” conservative Republican, who believes that whole municipality’s and townships within our region must start working together. He has been married for over twenty five years now, and currently resides in Marion. He has a Masters Degree from the University of Arkansas and considers education to be crucial for the continued economic improvement of the Mid-South area. I must say in closing, that it was indeed an absolute pleasure to have spoken with Mr. Geelan and we certainly do wish him the best of luck with this campaign and his small business efforts.
